This growing popularity of fast food, coupled with the growing trend for convenience and value for money has opened up opportunities in Nigeria and the United States of America food market. Local producers and restaurants have indeed embraced this evolution and reached new customers.
It was an exciting moment as entrepreneur Maryam Bakare opened a new restaurant “Homewood African Food Factory & Grills”
The opening event featured notable guests, including Mayor Rich Hofeld, and the executives of the village of Homewood, Illinois.
Her aim is to showcase the Nigerian culture and provide a home away from home dining experience.
“I’m grateful for yielding to the opportunity, possessing my possessions in the land that flows with milk and honey to birth “Homewood African Food Factory & Grills”
“This opportunity has led me to think of my next venture. Since there are not many African restaurants in this area of town I launch on to open a restaurant. Overall I’m glad I could bring the culture to the city while also fulfilling these dreams.” Maryam said

“Homewood African Food Factory & Grills” is new and I believe that God who has started this in my life will continue to nurture, sustain and direct us .To God alone be all the glory, honour and praise forever. Amen..” Maryam said
“I would like to seize this opportunity to appreciate and thank all who have truly been a part of my journey and has stood by me till this very moment especially CEO, Southside African Restaurant, Chicago. Mr Adewonuola Lala for his unflinching support towards the success of this project.| She said
Also, a very big thank you to the Mayor and executives of the village of Homewood Illinois. The ribbon cutting was a great honor and I’ll never forget this great show of love. A village that the mayor relates with you like a father. What a great man. Thanks to everyone present, God bless you all
