It is very easy for one to conclude and assert without any doubting mind that yesterday,Thursday,30th July,2020 was great and fantastic for our indefatigable Late Prince Adekunle Tijani Oyelere fondly called “Bibiire”.
The corpse left Olivet Baptist Hospital Oyo to Asu’s palace Fiditi with a heavy and uncommon convoy; alongside a noisy siren that announced the arrival of the corpse to all and sundry.
Immediately that the corpse got to the Asu’s palace, the Heir Apparent, Prince Oyelere Oyewole Sakiru, went straight to the abode of Mogaji of Asu Ruling House, Omo Oba Oyedepo Oguntoyan and in line with the custom and tradition, Omo Oba ‘Wole Oyelere broke the news of his father’s death to the Mogaji which he received in rude shock and similarly in a very sober and sympathetic mood.
In his reaction, Mogaji commended his late junior brother for being a very active and agile prince when he was alive and disclosed how he and his late brother attended a meeting bordering on Fiditi Chieftaincy Matters during the week. It was at this point in time that a very solid arrangement was made for the digging of the grave for the corpse;which was made adjacent to the parlour of ” BIIBIRE”, the parlour where he used to receive visitors during the Ileya Festival, the festival which he was unable to witness this year as a result of the inevitability of death.
When it was exactly 4.pm the corpse was brought out for Prayer which was attended by a plethora of eminent Alfas,Imams and moslem adherents from Fiditi, Oyo,Kano among others. For record purposes, the prayer for the corpse was led by that popular kano-based Islamic Scholar, Alh. Lateef Sadiku(Emi Abata) and without wasting time, immediately after the five minutes prayer for the corpse, the general prayer vis a vis “Waasi” started in earnest, wherein, “Emi Abata” sympathized with the Chief Imam of Fiditi, Alhaji Lasisi Oyelere who happens to be the immediate brother of the deceased. He later spelled out what is expected of widows during the mournful period of their late husband and he equally corrected the misconceptions that people used to have on what should be the usual practice of widows in their mourning period in tandem with the Islamic provisions in the Holy Book of Quran.
