The prestigious Agodi garden in Ibadan was lighted as the old students of Federal College of Education (Special) Oyo, gathered for the 21st anniversary after graduation.
The old students led by the set chairman, Mr. Okunade Adedayo who was gripped with excitement over a job well-done by the committee, praises Almighty God and appreciates classmates who came from different locations as they converge at Agodi Garden for the reunion celebration.
In his speech, Okunade said the need for the platform was to bring back the old memories among members in order to assist one another.
According to him, the platform also served as an opportunity for networking for socio-economic benefits among the group.
“I believe the purpose of this reunion gathering is to appreciate the Lord the more, it is over two decades that we all part ways after we graduated from the college. We glorify his Holy name. Amen”. He said.
Reunions are an important occasion that gives people the opportunity to reunite, renew and re-ignite their humanity, refresh the bond and rekindle the spirit of friendship, compare notes and evaluate individual philosophies. There are intended to redefine and redirect our goals and objectives to bring about new meaning to life’s aspirations. Okunade noted.
The chairman spread the spirit of love by remembering the late classmates and praying fervently for their souls while a special and silent moment the departed ones.
Despite the excitement and enjoyment, the old students were able to discuss future projects among other developmental-related matters especially supporting the families of the departed ones.
Also at the event, a health talk on the topic; Aging and Good Health was done by Dr. Kehinde and Dr. Fagunwa (Aunty Nike of admin) now a lecturer and a special guest in the company of her husband.
In the end, it was really fun as the old student cut the cake, took photographs and shares some old and new dancing steps.
